learning about authors

James Roy used a book and desk as his template, so that would appeal to people who want to know more about his writing, maybe.
You can tell that Steph's blog is made to appeal to girls her age.
i cant get to LM fuge(502 internal sever error)
Steven herricks page is nice and simple, but as mentioned on that assingment on edmodo, not many people would read that
michael hyde's site is presented well and appeals to me, it has a good mixture of pictures and text.

James- he started when he didnt like his job and remembered how he wanted to be a writer as a kid
Steve- started at poetry and worked his way up
Michael Hyde- started as an english teacher , journalist and truck driver.
Michael bauer- Also started as an english teacher, resigned and started writing
Steph- only says she wrote "Girl Saves Boy" first
again, couldnt access LM fuge

response: Reading Experiences

i find reading easiest in bed or on a lazy weekend (all day sometimes)

i have never really thought about authors in particular, but the author i read the most would be mathew Reilly
i think its the way he conveys detail of fast paced events that i like
The books of his i have read i have liked

i don't really have an accurate recommend-er, but i have liked a small few of the books my dad borrowed.
i haven't recommended any books, i don't read too much
i cant really answer the rest of this question...

I'm sorry, but i genuinely cannot answer this question either, i haven't come across any authors that are similar.

Blurb

yes

the dialogue was really attention grabbing, for lack of a better name. example: "do ti Tomasso! No! im a spy, not a murderer!"

i felt like this terms English assessment won't be too bad. and it wasn't
ditto about the read.  it described and the feel of the book and teased the story line very well

the back cover wasn't really appealing, quite blank in fact

leonardo was intrigued by the scematic. but what could this machine do?

leonardo was sent by his father to work at an artisan in florence, but washing brushes and aprons was not to his liking. on an errand he stumbles over a mysterious plan to overturn florences leadership, and then  things get violent.

Front cover

the cover of my book is a bright orange/yellow with black writing. it has a picture of a person running through what looks like an art gallery, which is fitting.

the cover of the book was average but mildly appealing, and played a minor role in my choice

a good front cover should have maybe a setting, maybe a key object to the story, while presented similarly to professional artistic photography.

no, not really, but i imagine how that could happen
i know this happened to Nick with Bloodflower (it was a romance)

i asked Oliver. his cover is a little appealing to me, but the whole war thing is getting really out of hand with video games and whatnot. the man stands out the most. and  i assume that he is alone for the majority of the story by the way it is presented

E-literature

This was a bit busy for my liking. I would much rather read a book than watch an energetic flash animation

i think some people would like the pictures and sounds, but i like to imagine things

some disadvantages would be:

  • internet: If yours is slow, so is your reading
  • power: you need power to use e-literature
  • availability: I've never seen this before, so I'm presuming its rare. i might not like the books available for this, so i might not use it
i think that they might be referring to how there isn't any voice or video of the characters actions, and you need to read all of the text to understand the story

none

as stated above, i would mush rather a real book, not staring at a screen (which could be inappropriate for epileptics, in this case)

what's in a title?

I don't think that 'Leonardo and the Death Machine' was the best choice, as the 'death machine' was a small bronze statue designed to fling a small bronze lightning bolt at someone having dinner. at the very end of the book. for one paragraph.

a good alternate title would have been 'the framing of Leonardo' or  'Leonardo and the plan for murder'

Basalt the determined pebble

Basalt was a small Igneous rock. He had been living on the side of this lake for only a month. Already, Basalt was hating it. He just needed a gust of wind to move his small body...

There were other rocks living on the shore. most were sedimentary. There was a decent igneous population, and a few older metamorphic rocks. Basalt one day wanted to become a metamorphic rock, but he understood that it was a difficult  and painful process. After consulting the wise granite boulder, he followed his instructions and found a comfy spot.
And then he waited.

Fast forward 10,000 years.

Basalt was excited. He could no longer feel the vibrations of water and animals, and could feel the heat of the mantle. He need to wait a bit longer, and then he would be exposed to the heat and pressure that would transform him into a metamorphic rock. Which type he would turn into, only fate could decide

another 100,000,000  years pass

fresh air. Blueschist hadn't felt fresh air for a very long time.there was no longer a lake where he emerged, but he could have moved thousands of miles anyway,

finished book

no-one dies (unlike Cloverfeild) and leo stops the machine at the last minute

FIRST POST!!!!1!!!11!!!!!1!!!eleven1!!!!!!!

i am currently reading a book called Leonardo and the Death Machine, which is not too appealing to me.
the story line is tolerable, bordering on good. It is about Leonardo da Vinci as a teenager and a servant girl, who are accused of murder. leonardo has to figure out what the "death machine" actually does before it is put to use against the family in power of Florence. i am just past halfway in this novel
